The seventh commencement ceremony of Asian University for Women (AUW) will be held on May 11 at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View.
The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Nirmala Rao, during a press conference held on the campus yesterday.
The ceremony will be presided over by Chancellor Cherie Blair, said Prof Nirmala. This year, one hundred women from 12 countries will graduate from the university, she added.
The keynotes will be presented by Dr Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, finance minister of Afghanistan and chief adviser to the Afghanistan president for infrastructure, human capital and technology; and Prof Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, founding chairperson of Department of Dance at Dhaka University.
Kamal Ahmad, founder of AUW; Dr Dave Dowland, registrar of the university, and Suman Chatterjee, director of marketing and student recruitment, spoke at the press conference, among others.
