50 acres recovered in ACC drive in Cox’s

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) evicted 50 establishments in a drive yesterday at Kolatolibypass area in Cox’s Bazar.

ACC deputy director Lutful Kabir Chandan led the drive that started at around 10am, and continued till 4pm. Representatives of the district administration, Department of Environment, Bangladesh Power Development Board, police, Rab and Ansar cooperated in conducting the drive.

One person,Mohammad Zobayerwas arrested for his alleged involvement in illegal hill cutting.

“We have recovered around 50 acres of government land in this drive,” said Lutful Kabir Chandan.

ACC director general (administration) Muhammad Munir Chowdhury said, “Illegal hill cutting and government land grabbing is going on due to corruption and lack of monitoring. We will investigate into these allegations. None will be spared.”

Earlier onJanuary 29 and 30, ACC evicted over 150 establishments and recovered 25 acres of land in the town’s Faterghona area.
