3 receive burns after altercation in Uttar Goran
A tea vendor and two others sustained burns today in Dhaka’s Uttar Goran area following an altercation over payment of tea.
The victims are tea vendor Nazrul Islam, 40, Dilu Islam, 44, and a private car driver Ayub Ali, 47, hospital sources have said.
Altercation ensued between Nazrul and Dilu around 12noon over payment of a few cups of tea, eye witness Alamgir Hosen told The Daily Star.
At one stage of the altercation,Dilu threw some products of the tea stall on the floor following which Nazrul tried to pour hot water on him from a kettle.
Ayub, who was trying to intervene the situation, came between Nazrul and Dilu and ended up getting burnt. Some hot water fell on Nazrul too.
Alamgir rushed the trio to Dhaka Medical College Hospital(DMCH) from where Nazrul and Dilu were released after primary treatment.
Nazrul and Dilu sustained five per cent burns. Driver Ayub Ali received 12 per cent burns and is currently hospitalised.
Officer-in-Charge(OC) of Khilgaon Police StationMoshiur Rahman confirmed the incident to The Daily Star.
