Around 1.27 lakh Bangladeshis will get the opportunity to perform Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah, in 2019.
The religious affairs ministry yesterday signed an agreement with the respective ministry of Saudi Arabia in this regard.
Secretary to the ministry, Anisur Rahman, signed the agreement.
Hajj in 2019 is set to begin on August 9, based on the Islamic calendar.
In 2017 and 2018, a similar number of Bangladeshis performed the holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
