Neighbour stabs man dead in Jamalpur

A man was stabbed to death by his neighbour over a trifling matter at Adra village in Jamalpur's Melandah upazila on Friday.

Motaleb Hossain, 35, was declared dead at the upazila health complex.

Police said the victim was fishing in a water body in the village around 11:00am when his neighbour Al Amin, 25, son of Matobbar Ali, went there and asked to see the catches.

When Motaleb refused, an altercation followed, and Al Amin stabbed him, said Nasimul Islam, officer-in-charge of Melandah Police Station.

He said Al Amin was treated for some mental condition a few days ago.

Al Amin was arrested in a murder case.
