Man 'kills' wife in Rajshahi

A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband in Bhuroil area of Rajshahi city yesterday.

Morjina Khatun, 45, used to stay at a tin-roofed house with her husband Korban Ali, 52, a carpenter, said police.

Korban, who went into hiding following the murder, have three more wives over which the couple often quarrelled, said Morjina's brother.

The body, with two hacking injuries on the head, was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Police recovered a blood-stained axe from the spot.
