Language hero Humayun dies
Dr Humayun KMA Hye, a language movement veteran and a freedom fighter, died from cancer in a UK hospital on Thursday night. He was 87.
He breathed his last at 11:45pm at the hospital in Manchester, said a press release.
He left behind a daughter, a son and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
His body will be brought to the country soon and will be buried beside his wife's grave at Banani graveyard.
Huamyun played a significant role during the Language Movement in 1952, and later took part in the 1971 Liberation War as a medical officer of Z-Force, said the release.
All of his friends, relatives and well-wishers are requested to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
