Justice Mohammad Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed (retd) has been reappointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Press Council (BPC) for the next two years.

A notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration in this regard yesterday.

In a separate notification, the Ministry of Information nominated 14 persons as members of the council.

They are Dainik Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar, News Today Editor Reazuddin Ahmed, Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan, parliament members AKM Rahmatullah and Sukumar Ranjan Ghosh, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, BFUJ Executive Committee Member Swapan Dasgupta, Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam, Bangladesh Bar Council Member ZI Khan Panna, Dainik Ittefaq Acting Editor Tasmima Hossain, Dainik Karatoa Editor Mozammel Haque, University Grants Commission Member Prof M Shahnawaz Ali, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam and BFUJ member Mafida Akbar.
