JS by-polls to Moulvibazar-3 December 8

The by-election to Moulvibazar-3 constituency, which fell vacant with the death of Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, is scheduled for December 8.

According to the poll schedule declared by the Election Commission yesterday, the deadline for the submission of nomination paper is November 11, date for scrutiny November 14, and last date for withdrawal of candidature November 22.

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the by-election schedule at a press conference at the commission's media centre.

Mohsin Ali died on September 14.

The constituency comprising of Moulvibazar sadar and Rajnagar upazilas, has a total of 3,47,954 voters --1,74,371 men and 1,73,583 women -- under its one municipality and 20 union parishads.
