Five more held over B'baria violence
Police arrested five people on Thursday in connection with violence over death of a madrasa student in a clash of Brahmanbaria on January 12.
They are Nur Sayed, Liton Miah, Jiaul Hasan, Sumon Ahmed and Nayon Sarkar. Three sharp weapons, four Iron-rods and some hemp were also seized. So far 18 have been arrested in last four days, said police.
On January 12, madrasa students vandalised and set fire to several establishments and blocked the rail-track protesting death of Masudur Rahman, a student of Jamia Islamia Yunusia Madrasa, who was injured in the clash, the day before. At least 30 people, including Masudur, were injured in a clash among the madrasa students, local traders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League over a trifling matter on January 11.
