Former lawmaker of Lalmonirhat-1 constituency (Patgram and Hatibandha upazila) Kazi Nuruzzaman, also a freedom fighter, died of old age complications in his Patgram town residence on Tuesday night. He was 90.

He left behind his wife and two daughters. He was the founder president of BNP Lalmonirhat district unit.

He was buried in his family graveyard yesterday afternoon following his namaz-e-janaza on the Patgram Jasimuddin Abdul Goni Govt College premises where he had served as principal.
