Dog squad deployed at Sylhet airport
After Dhaka and Chittagong airports, a dog squad was stationed at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet yesterday to tighten security.
The dog squad of Border Guard Bangladesh was posted at the airport around 10:00am, said Lutful Karim, deputy commander of BGB Battalion-5, adding that the squads were deployed to detect explosives and drugs.
Along with the dogs, six members of BGB were posted.
Lutful said the BGB members would remain stationed until further notice. "The squad has two trained dogs which are capable of detecting arms, narcotics and explosives."
