2 including cop die of dengue fever in Dhaka
Two people including a police official died of dengue fever in the capital today.
Police official Kohinoor Akhter who was a sub-inspector of the Special Branch of police breathed her last at a hospital in Mohammadpur today, said Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (media) at police headquarters.
Kohinoor was suffering from fever since July 24, the AIG said.
She initially got herself admitted to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital.
Last night, she was shifted to City Hospital in Mohammadpur in critical condition, where she passed away around 1:40am, the official said.
Kohinoor, hailing from Tangail, left behind her husband and a daughter to mourn her death.
Meanwhile, another patient, Rabiul Islam Rabbi, who was admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital on July 22 was rushed to DMCH this afternoon after his condition deteriorated.
He was declared dead after he was taken to DMCH, Assistant Sub-Inspector of DMCH Police outpost Abdul Khan told The Daily Star.
He died of dengue fever, the official added.
With this, the death toll in the ongoing dengue outbreak across the country has risen to 42.
