BR staff held for vandalising colleague's home

A railway employee was arrested red-handed while he was vandalising the house of one of his female colleagues in Chittagong city's Jhautala on Friday night, said police.

Md Shahjahan, 35, a class IV employee of Bangladesh Railway (East Zone), along with other people vandalised furniture and other valuables and assaulted a younger brother of his colleague, who is a class III employee, said Md Nizam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station. Shahjahan's accomplices managed to flee, Nizam said.

The woman sued Shahjahan and 15 to 20 unnamed persons.

The reason behind the attack could not be ascertained immediately, said the OC, adding that they were investigating the matter.
