Bomb found near a shop at Badda

A bomb was found near a shop on the Link Road in Badda of Dhaka this afternoon.

On information, police rushed there and found an improvised explosive device (IED) wrapped in a packet near the shop named “Nayan Biryani” on the road around 3:45pm, said Qazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge 9OC) of Badda Police Station.

Later, a bomb disposal team from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) recovered the bomb and defused it around 5:30pm, said the OC.

The OC also said they are trying to identify the person, who kept the bomb, checking CCTV camera footage of the area.
