Biman suspends three more staff over technical glitch

Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BBA) on Sunday suspended three more of its employees for the negligence in duty that resulted in a technical glitch forcing the BBA to cancel its Muscat-bound flight on Saturday at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city.

With the three, so far seven employees of the airlines have been suspended in connection with the incident.

They are the flight's captain, first officer, chief purser, a stewardess, a junior technician, a steward and a senior operator of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) department, said a BBA press release received yesterday.

The flight that was scheduled to take off at 8:30am on Saturday, failed to fly owing to the technical fault, said Biman officials.

Later, its passengers flew to Muscat by another aircraft at 2:25pm, they added.

A probe body was formed to investigate into the incident.
