Barisal human chain protests Rupa's rape

A human chain was formed yesterday in front of Barisal city's Ashwini Kumar Hall protesting the recent rape and murder of Rupa in a speeding bus.

Sixteen socio-cultural and NGOs arranged the programme.

Rabeya Khatun, president Bangladesh Mahila Parishad's Barisal unit, presided over the event.

The speakers said most of the attackers of women go unpunished. 

They urged the government to ensure capital punishment for the rapist.
