Aroj Ali Memorial Museum inaugurated in Barisal

Philosopher Aroj Ali Matubbar Memorial Museum was inaugurated at his native village Lamchari in Charbaria union of Barisal Sadar upazila yesterday. 

Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner SM Ruhul Amin inaugurated the museum while Ayub Hossain, president of Jono Biggan Foundation, presided over the ceremony. Md Rafiqur Rahaman, representative of Opsonin Pharma Ltd, which donated a fund for the museum, attended as special guest.

The construction started in December 2017. The museum will be open for visitors in June, said sources.

Aroj Ali studied only for a few months at his village Maktab but gathered knowledge on varied subjects, including science and philosophy, through his own readings and research. His body was donated to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital after his death on March 15, 1985. He wrote several books including Satyer Sandhan (1973), Sristi Rahasya (1977), Anuman (1983), and Muktaman (1988).
