ACC arrests former Krishi Bank DGM

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested former deputy general manager (DGM) of Bangladesh Krishi Bank Iqbal Hossain Molla early yesterday in a case filed on August 4 over misappropriating Tk 49.26 crore.

According to the case statement, Iqbal in association with some others created fake documents of mortgage and sanctioned a loan of Tk 49,26,24,975 while carrying out his duties as DGM at the bank's Karwanbazar branch in the capital.

Iqbal was arrested in his Uttara Model Town residence in the capital, said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, ACC's public relations officer.

ACC's Deputy Director Shamsul Alam filed the case.
