ABT man remanded in Avijit murder case
A Dhaka court yesterday placed a member (operation) of Ansaullah Bangla Team (ABT) on a four-day remand in a case filed over the killing of writer-blogger Avijit Roy.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after Mohammad Monirul Islam, an inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Sabur alias Raju, 21, before it with a 10-day remand prayer.
Avijit, founder of Mukto-Mona blog, was hacked to death near the TSC on the Dhaka University campus on February 26, 2015.
His wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya was also injured in the attack.
