48 get Meena Media award

Forty-eight journalists, creative writers, television and radio programme producers, photographers and videographers were honoured with the 12th Meena Media Awards-2016 by Unicef yesterday in the capital's Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel for their works focusing on children's issues.

Both creative and journalistic works by age groups below and over 18 were awarded.

In 13 categories, each winner was given Tk 50,000 while those securing 2nd and 3rd positions were given Tk 25,000 and Tk 15,000 respectively.

Handing over the prizes, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu congratulated them. 

Journalists and programme producers from community radio also participated and received awards. A panel of 11 judges including eminent writers, journalists, and educationists selected the winners from over 700 entries, said a press release.
