140 resign from N'ganj pro-BNP lawyers' forum

Some 140 pro-BNP lawyers of Narayanganj have resigned from the newly formed 287-member committee of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum of the district, terming it "undemocratic and illegal".

They also rejected the committee and demanded its cancellation.

The pro-BNP lawyers under the banner of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum placed the demand at a press conference at Narayanganj Press Club.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon on June 7 approved the 287-member committee making Humayun Kabir its president and Khorshed Alam Mollah its secretary.

Yesterday, Advocate Abdul Bari Bhuiyan, former president of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum of Narayanganj, in a written statement, said the 287-member committee has been announced illegally. Some pro-Awami League lawyers have also been included in the committee, he alleged.
