100 RMG workers of Keya Group fall sick again

Over 100 workers of the Keya Knit Composite Ltd in Jarun area of Gazipur city yesterday fell sick in what doctors said could be assign of mass hysteria.

The report of illness at the readymade garment unit of Keya Group followed a similar incident on Wednesday when some 500 workers were taken to hospital after they drank water at the factory canteen.

Yesterday, the factory authorities and police sent them to different local clinics and hospitals after they complained about dizziness and stomachache while some of them also vomited.

The authorities shut down the factory for yesterday when other workers started demonstrating on street.

RA Sohel, general manager of the factory, said the workers had been bringing water from their homes since Wednesday.
