Chapainawabganj AL activist burnt to death

An Awami League activist was burnt to death when BNP men, aggrieved by the arrest of a Jubo Dal man, set fire to his shop in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj tonight.

Victim Enamul Haque, 65, was an inhabitant of Chaturpur village in Shibganj Municipality area, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.

The supporters of main opposition party, infuriated by the arrest of an activist of Jubo Dal, the youth front of the BNP, set blaze to the shop of Haque at Shibganj Bazar around 6:00pm, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station.  

Police arrested Salauddin, a Jubo Dal activist, at the bazar around 5:30pm for his alleged involvement with several criminal activities, the OC added.
