NSU EMBA programme welcomes Summer 2025 students

North South University (NSU) welcomed the incoming students of its Summer 2025 Executive MBA (EMBA) and graduate Business programmes with an interactive and career-focused orientation session on May 18, 2025. The event involved a series of dynamic roundtable discussions involving students, faculty, distinguished alumni, and top industry professionals. 

The highlight of the evening was a set of twelve simultaneous roundtable sessions organised by academic discipline, including Marketing, Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Human Resource Management (HRM), and Management Information Systems (MIS). Approximately 200 newly admitted students engaged in meaningful dialogue with over 50 business leaders and NSU alumni currently serving in senior roles at organisations such as bKash, PWC, Nestle, HSBC, Square Group, and Grameen Digital Health Solutions.

The event was graced by the presence of Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, NSU and Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge), NSU, who both highlighted the importance of integrating academic excellence with industry engagement to prepare future-ready business leaders. Notable participants in the roundtable discussions included Shams Zaman, Country Managing Partner at PWC; Ummiya Rahman, Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy & Consumer Insights at bKash Ltd; Dr Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO of Grameen Digital Health Solutions; Hosne Ara Loma, HR Director at Nestlé; Mahbub Baset, Chief Operating Officer of Ifad Multi Products Ltd; Rezwanul Karim, Vice President of Supply Chain Governance at bKash Ltd.; Parvez Saiful Islam, COO, Square Foods & Beverages; Masrur Chowdhury, EVP and HoD, Business Sales, bKash Ltd; Dr AKM Asaduzzaman Patwary, General Secretary (Acting), DCCI; Sania Mahmood, COO, BuildNation; Hasibul Hasan, Chief Marketing Officer; Grameen Digital Health Solutions; Amir Daud, Coo, Ifad Autos PLC (Automotive Wing); Mokhlesur Rahman Mijba, Head Operations, Grameen Digital Health Solutions; Shihab Uddin, Grameen Digital Health Solutions; Golam Morshed, Head of SCM, Square Foods & Beverages; and Arifa Sultana, VP, HR Business Partner, bKash Ltd.

Dr Nazlee Siddiqui, Director of the MBA/EMBA programmes at NSU, emphasised the core objective of the roundtable discussions, stating, "The purpose of this initiative is to promote lifelong learning and ensure continuity in the pursuit of knowledge for both personal and professional growth. By bringing together new students with experienced alumni and industry leaders, we create a platform where real-world experiences and ongoing learning are shared, making the dissemination of knowledge more accessible and impactful."

Each roundtable was co-led by NSU faculty members and industry representatives, focusing on the critical soft and hard skills required in their respective fields. The interactive sessions provided students with firsthand insights into current trends and expectations across sectors, helping them connect academic learning with real-world business challenges.

In recognition of academic excellence, NSU also awarded merit-based scholarships during the event. One top-performing student received a 50 percent tuition fee waiver, while two others were granted 25% waivers based on their admission scores.
