Campus Life

Letters from readers – July 20, 2023

SHOUT has kept me quiet company for many years now, and I will miss the relatable weekly musings of young people such as me. My Thursdays probably won't feel all that different but a small thing that has been constant for so many years will now finally change. I am, however, intrigued about what Campus will be all about. I have been an avid reader of The Daily Star for a long time, and I hope and expect them to deliver something impressive, like always.

— Shaer Ali, Graduate student, Dhaka University

In Bangladesh, universities, especially private universities, lack inter-university connection and representation when it comes to the students. I don't mean friendships and other personal relationships, but more so in regards to the experience of being a student. There is a lack of a common space for discussion where university-going students can connect with each other on academic, administrative, bureaucratic, and equity matters. There's an increasing need for such a platform that can act as a mouthpiece for student representation and uphold their concerns.
