Neural Semiconductor's VLSI Design Center begins its journey

Neural Semiconductor is DBL Group's latest initiative and is a technology firm which will design microchips for the Internet of Things (IoT) and for markets related to Artificial Intelligence. Neural Semiconductor's VLSI Design Centre officially began its journey on the 2nd of April, 2017 via a launching program presided over by Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, the chief guest and Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. DBL Group's Board of Directors - M.A. Jabbar, Managing Director; M.A. Rahim, Vice Chairman; M.A. Quader, Deputy Managing Director; Neural Semiconductor's COO, Md. Shakhawat Hossain and other officials were present during the inauguration.
DBL Group is a diversified business entity, which has vertically integrated textile and apparel manufacturing facilities, with concerns in ICT & Telecommunications, dredging, ceramic tiles, pharmaceuticals and more. The business started in 1991 and is now a conglomerate of 22 concerns with a dedicated, skilled workforce of more than 25,000 employees.
As one of its newest concerns, DBL Group has high expectations of Neural Semiconductor as its first foray into technology design, and plan on utilising a growing talent pool of engineers and IT professionals to take their vision forward. As such, twenty-five aspiring engineers have already joined Neural Semiconductor as part of the design team. These professionals have been trained overseas and the key personnel leading the team are professionals with more than twenty years of experience working at the Intel Corporation and other renowned tech companies in Silicon Valley, USA.
The VLSI Design Center will be based in Bangladesh, with offices in Gulshan 1. A marketing and customer interface office will be maintained in the USA, while the production of microchips designed by Neural Semiconductor, which requires advanced techniques and infrastructure that Bangladesh simply can't provide at the moment, will be carried out by the TSMC in Taiwan. TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is one of the largest, dedicated and independent semiconductor foundry in the world.
