Transcom brings PepsiCo's snack brand Kurkure
PepsiCo Bangladesh and its local franchisee Transcom Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) yesterday officially launched renowned snack brand Kurkure.
Darpan Vashishtha, country manager of PepsiCo Bangladesh, Simeen Hossain, managing director of TCPL, and actress Aupee Karim, brand ambassador for the snack, unveiled the product at a programme at the Westin hotel in Dhaka.
Kurkure is a crunchy vegetarian item and made of kitchen ingredients, according to PepsiCo. All ingredients are used daily in households for the preparation of various edible items.
The product is available in three flavours: masala munch, chilli chatka, and sour-spicy and sweet.
“Transcom has been our partner for a long time on the beverages side. Now we are delighted to extend our partnership to food side as well,” Vashishtha said.
TCPL owns and operates a state-of-the-art factory in Bogra for manufacturing, marketing and distributing Kurkure.
TCPL, a subsidiary of Transcom Group, is the first-ever PepsiCo snack franchisee in the world. TCPL is the exclusive franchisee in Bangladesh, Simeen Hossain said.
She said the snack is being produced in Bangladesh in compliance with global standards.
At the launch, a TV commercial was also unveiled. The TVC will soon go on air.
Kurkure's small, medium and large packs are available at Tk 10, Tk 25 and Tk 45.
Transcom Beverages Ltd, another subsidiary of Transcom Group, is the exclusive PepsiCo franchisee in Bangladesh. It owns and operates plants in Dhaka and Chittagong for bottling renowned soft drink brands such as, Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Slice, Mountain Dew, Pepsi Diet and 7UP Light.
Arshad Waliur Rahman, a director of Transcom Group, was also present at the launching ceremony.
