Regulator registers EDGE as asset manager
The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has recently registered EDGE AMC Limited as an asset management operations entity.
The country's 33rd asset management company offers asset and wealth management solutions to individual and institutional investors.
Its chairman is Masud Khan, former finance director of Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd and an independent director at GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh, Marico Bangladesh Ltd and Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd.
Its chief executive officer is Ali Imam who served investment research and management roles at Brac EPL Stock Brokerage and Eastern Bank. The chief risk and compliance officer is Asif Khan while chief investment officer Khandakar Safwan Saad.
“Founded by a team of investment management professionals with strong track record, EDGE AMC is committed to deliver strong investment results to its clients by harnessing long-term, value investing opportunities in Bangladesh,” Imam said in a statement.
“We will be constantly focusing on developing and maintaining competitive advantages from competency, integrity and psychological perspectives for delivering the best results in a knowledge-based public service industry,” he added.
