International scientific conference 'Transformation of Stroke Care' held in Sylhet
A day long scientific conference was held recently. The main theme of this conference was 'Transformation of stroke care in Bangladesh', 'Rapid response stroke care (Management of Hyper acute stroke and further prevention)' and 'Time is brain & door to needle approach: Saving lives and prevent disabilities' which was hosted by Planetary Health Academia (PHA) in Sylhet. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader, Secretary, Health Service Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Quazi Deen Mohammad, Director, National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital and President, Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS), Prof. Dr. AKM Amirul Morshed, Director General, Directorate General of Medical Education and Prof. Dr. Firoz Ahmed Quraishi, President, Society of Neurologists of Bangladesh were the special guest. and Professor Dr. Md. Moynul Haque, Principal, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College was chaired the events.
A day long scientific events brings together nearly 150 eminent professionals in the field of neurology and covered by three panel sessions accommodating sixteen (16) panel of experts and sixteen (16) speakers from home and abroad. After completing each session there were an Q&A session from both invited guests and from panelists. In the welcome speech, PHA chairperson's Dr Tasbirul Islam said "As a knowledge sharing platform PHA always believe in collaboration and cooperation of disseminating the up-to-date knowledge among the Bangladeshi physicians on different discipline. The treatment of acute stroke continue to advance, and acute stroke care and research have been affected both directly and indirectly".
