Ctg Evercare successfully completes bone-marrow transplant

Evercare Hospital Chattogram has announced the successful completion of the first autologous bone-marrow transplant (BMT) in Chattogram, said a press release.

The procedure was performed on a multiple myeloma patient on January 19 by Dr Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh and his team.

Dr Saleh and his team have been providing full-time outpatient and inpatient services along with daycare facilities since January 1, 2023, it said.

Evercare Hospital Chattogram has invested in a state-of -the-art bone marrow transplant facility, the first and only one in the region.

BMT is a complex and delicate procedure that involves replacing damaged or destroyed bone marrow with healthy cells. It is a life-saving treatment for patients suffering from blood disorders such as leukemia and lymphoma, the release added.
