BRAC Kumon students spread Eid cheer among underserved children

Eid is a celebration of joy—new clothes, shared meals, and moments with loved ones.

Yet for many children in marginalized communities, this joy often remains out of reach. In an effort to change that reality, students from BRAC Kumon participated in a heartwarming initiative: 'দেয়ার খুশি কুমন-এ'.

As part of this campaign, students voluntarily donated a portion of their tuition fees and collected gently used, good-quality clothing to share with children from underserved communities. The initiative was implemented with the support of BRAC Kumon and BRAC's Ultra Poor Graduation (UPG) programme. The clothing was distributed in the days leading up to Eid.

What made this campaign truly special was the students' direct involvement. Each gift was accompanied by a handwritten Eid card containing personal, heartfelt messages for the unknown recipients—children who got to celebrate Eid in clothes chosen and shared with care.

Through this act, BRAC Kumon students demonstrated how small, meaningful actions can spark larger social change. Beyond spreading joy, the initiative also fostered values of empathy and responsibility—nurturing the kind of compassionate citizenship that BRAC strives to instill in young minds.

'দেয়ার খুশি কুমন-এ' reminds us that the true spirit of Eid lies not just in celebration, but in sharing—and that joy becomes complete only when it is inclusive.
