Australian envoy to Bangladesh visits govt’s Public Private Partnership Authority
Jeremy Bruer, High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call to Sultana Afroz, Secretary to the Bangladesh government & CEO of Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA).
During the visit the High Commissioner of Australia reminisced about the Bangladesh war in 1971 when Australians gave their support to Bangladeshis, according to a press release.
"Australia was the first developed country to recognise Bangladesh and have been supporting Bangladesh from its earliest days. The Australians are impressed with the unprecedented growth over the last ten years," he said.
Sultana Afroz, Secretary to the Bangladesh government & CEO of PPPA acknowledged the contributions of Australia in Bangladesh with focus on poverty alleviation, education and skill development.
She proposed that Australia could explore the opportunities to develop, implement and operate not only PPP mega construction projects but also social infrastructure PPP projects related to climate change, waste management, health and education.
