EBL wins ‘Visa Excellence Awards’

Eastern Bank PLC has won "Visa Excellence Awards" in four categories in the "Visa Leadership Conclave – Towards a Cashless, Smart Bangladesh 2023".

The awards that the bank won are for: "Excellence in E-commerce Acquiring", "Excellence in Cybersource-Payment Gateway", "Excellence in Co-brand Cards", and "Excellence in Cross-Border Payments".

Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and CEO of the bank, received the awards from MA Mannan, minister for planning, at the Sheraton Dhaka in Banani recently, said a press release.

"Visa Excellence Awards underscore our commitment to excellence in the banking and financial service sector and solidifies our position as a leader in the industry," said Iftekhar.

Md Sharafat Ullah Khan, director of Payment System Department at the Bangladesh Bank, and Soumya Basu, country manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan at Visa, were present.

Among others, M Khorshed Anowar, deputy managing director and head of retail and SME banking of Eastern Bank, Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, head of digital financial services, and Tasnim Hussain, head of cards, were also present.
