BFIU seeks Wasa MD's bank account details
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked banks to provide detailed information about the accounts of Dhaka Wasa Managing Director Taqsem A Khan by August 29.
Sources at the unit told The Daily Star that the agency sought the information about Khan's bank accounts on Wednesday.
On August 17, the High Court sought information on his salary structure, bonus, and other benefits as the chief of the state-run water supplier in the capital in the last 13 years.
The chairman of the Dhaka Wasa has been asked to submit the information before the court within 60 days.
The HC came up with the directives after hearing a writ petition.
Architect Mubasshar Hussain, on behalf of the Consumer Association of Bangladesh, filed the writ petition last month, challenging the legality of providing an unreasonably high amount of salary to the Wasa MD.
