Big Bang Theory extended for three more series
Long-running US sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” has been extended for a further three series, broadcaster CBS has said. The top-rated sitcom on US television in 2012-13, is now due to air until at least 2017.

The show, which centres on a group of high-functioning science 'geeks', premiered in September 2007, is averaging 19.79 million viewers this season.
Actor Jim Parsons, who lies at the heart of the show as a scientific genius with negligible social skills, has already won three Emmy Awards for his role as Dr Sheldon Cooper. The show has also won People's Choice Award for “Favorite TV Comedy” thrice (2010, 2013, 2014), two Television Critics Association Awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy” (2009, 2013) as well as “Individual Achievement in Comedy” for Parsons (2009). In 2011, Parsons won a Golden Globe for “Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy” while Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, another central cast of the show – also won a 2014 People's Choice Award for “Favorite Comedic Actress”.
The show's other stars include Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch. Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and Bill Prady are executive producers, with the series belonging to the Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros.
