Budget session at parliament begins on June 2

The Jatiya Sangsad will go into the budget session on June 2.

The session will start at 5:00 pm, the parliament secretariat said in a press release.

This will be the 13th session of this parliament.

President Md Abdul Hamid will convene the session, exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the constitution.

Business Advisory Committee on parliament will finalise the duration and other activities of the budget session.

Like other sessions during the Covid-19 pandemic, the parliament session will run maintaining health safety guidelines.

In this case, only MPs who were tested negative for Covid-19 will be allowed to attend the session.

A limited number of lawmakers, who are required for fulfilling quorum in the House, will be asked to attend the parliament session on a rotation basis, sources at the Parliament Secretariat said.
