Four people, including a pedestrian, were critically injured when a covered van fell off Muktarpur Bridge in Munshiganj this morning.

The injured -- Belal Hossain (32) and Bachchu (32), supervisors of a private company; van driver Rasel Munshi (30); and pedestrian Mamun (32) -- were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

Md Bazlur Rahman, inspector of Munshiganj Sadar Traffic Police, said the covered van fell off the bridge when its driver tried to save an oncoming auto-rickshaw, which suddenly changed its lane, around 10:00am.    

The auto-rickshaw was carrying passengers to Narayanganj from Munshiganj, the inspector said.
