Six human traffickers arrested
In separate raids, police arrested six “listed” human traffickers at different parts of Cox's Bazar early yesterday.
Police said they were conducting a special drive in the district to catch the human traffickers.
Four “human traffickers" were nabbed in Teknaf upazila, while two others in Cox's Bazar town and Maheshkhali upazila.
The arrestees from Teknaf are Jamal Hossain and Mohammad Abdullah of Shah Parir Dwip, and Mohammad Alam and Abdul Quddus of Baharchhara village.
The detainee from Cox's Bazar town is Mohammad Saker and from Maheshkhali Mohammad Hasan.
Separate cases were filed against the arrestees under the Human Trafficking Deterrence and Suppression Act, 2012.
The arrestees were also produced before the court that sent them to jail.
