'Gang-raped' Noakhali woman hospitalised
A 35-year-old woman was admitted to a hospital in Noakhali town yesterday after allegedly being gang-raped.
The woman, a mother of two, was abducted Tuesday night when she was on her way to visit a relative in Sonaimuri upazila, family members said.
Her captors left her by a pond in Bargaon village on Wednesday after gang-raping her, they added.
Locals rescued her the same day and called her family members, who took her home. As her condition kept deteriorating, she was taken to hospital, family members said.
Her neighbours Amirul Islam and Nizam Uddin Bacchu have been arrested, said Abdus Samad, officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri Police Station.
He added that Dipak Jyoti Khisha, additional superintendent of police in Noakhali, had visited the crime locations.
