8 die after showing Covid-19 symptoms
At least eight people, including three women, died after showing Covid-19 symptoms in Cumilla and Satkhira in 24 hours till yesterday morning.
Five more people breathed their last at the isolation ward of Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
The victims were aged between 46 to 88 and all were admitted to the hospital with fever, cold, and breathing problems, said Md Istiaque, assistant surgeon of the hospital.
Of the five, four were male and one was female and two of them died at ICU, said the doctor.
With them, 149 died after showing coronavirus symptoms at the hospital since April.
At the Satkhira Medical College Hospital's isolation unit, three people, including two women, died with coronavirus symptoms within four hours till 10:00pm Saturday.
They were suffering from fever, cough, and breathing difficulties, said Manas Kumar Mandal, medicine consultant of the hospital, adding that
their samples were collected for test.
The victims were buried following IEDCR rules, and administration officials were asked to lock down their houses, said Joyanta Sarkar, medical officer of the civil surgeon office.
