Journo stabbed, mugged in city

Muggers stabbed and mugged a journalist in the city's Kakrail area last night.

Injured Masud Alam, sports reporter of the daily Prothom Alo, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Sub-Inspector Bachchu Miah, police in charge at the DMCH, said the 48-year-old journalist was going to his office at Karwan Bazar from Bangabandhu Stadium on foot around 11:00pm.

As Masud reached near the Ramna Park, muggers attacked him and snatched two mobile phones and some money from him.

Locals later rushed him to the DMCH, said the police official.
