RUPCHANDA-THE DAILY STAR SUPER CHEF 2018
The search for the best chef in the country has begun. The most heated kitchen competition Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef has pitched in for the fifth time. Through various regional rounds, the competition has brought together 20 promising culinary enthusiasts from all over the country. The show's charm is further accentuated by the eminent judges — Tariq Anam Khan, an award-winning actor and an iconic figure of Bangla theatre, television, and film; Nafiz Islam Lipi, CEO and owner of Lipi's Euphoria - Institute of Culinary Arts; and Jed Gareth Archdeacon, Executive Chef at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden. The diverse set of participants and the highly qualified panel surely promise a thrilling ride this season.
The first episode of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef 2018 honours the legendary Siddiqua Kabir. Three avid followers of the reality show, invited through social media engagement, chose their favourite dishes from Siddiqua Kabir's recipe book for the contestants to cook in their first challenge. Fish kopta, chapli kabab, and grilled fish were the dishes that carried the participants' fate in the competition. On Tariq Anam's high-powered countdown, Super Chef contestants rushed to their pantry packed with assorted grocery. The clanging utensils, sizzling oil, and the thudding knives over the chopping board built a distinct kitchen ambience. With this, the pressure escalated and the participants had 40 minutes to present their food.
A perfectly grilled fish plated with colourful sides won Md Moinul Haque the best dish badge. However, four dishes couldn't make a mark and their cooks moved on to the pressure test. Finally, chicken cutlet cut short Morsheda Nahar Kajol's stay. Kajol's cutlet bore resemblance to fried chicken instead and sadly, showed her the way out of the kitchen.
One episode down and the Super Chef kitchen is already missing one candidate. The remaining 19 cooks enjoy their stay in the kitchen and in the second episode, attend a chef class presided over by the culinary expert, Ummah Mustofa.
Rupchanda - The Daily Star Super Chef 2018 airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm only on ntv. Watch the show to witness an exciting cooking adventure!
