Kazi Nazrul Islam was not simply a poet; he was a rebel, a philosopher and a revolutionary. He is the 'bidrohi kobi' who has long fueled our will to revolt against oppression. Born on May 25, 1899, the poet's compositions primarily revolve around religious devotion, spiritual rebellion against fascism and injustice, and perhaps most importantly, love. Love for the Creator and the entirety of humanity. On this Nazrul Jayanti, let us channel the undiminishable spirit of Kazi Nazrul Islam to fight against the injustice present in the society today. Long live the revolutionary, Kazi Nazrul Islam.
NTV: On May 25, NTV will start the day with Nazrul Bhabona at 6:55 am. A musical show Chutir Diner Gaan will be shown at 8:45 am. Students of Bulbul Lalitakala Academy will participate in a magazine show Tiffiner Phaanke's special episode at 11:30 am.
Directed by Nahid Ahmed Pial, special tele-fiction Tomar Pother Dhulite will telecast at 2:35 pm on the same day, starring Suborna Mustafa, Sohana Saba, Maznun Mizan. In the evening, a special episode of Uddipon's Amare Debona Bhulite will be shown at 6:55 pm. Special tele-fiction Mohuar Maya, based on Nazrul's poem Apon Piyasi, will be telecast at 9:05 pm, directed by Golam Sohrab Dodul, starring Intekhab Dinar, Sumaiya Shimu and Prosun Azad. A poetry show Premik Othoba Biplobi will be shown at 10 pm.
Channel i: Gaane Gaane Shokal Shuru will be aired live from Channel i studio at 7:30 am. A discussion on Nazrul, called Shorashori Nazrul will be aired at 11:05 am. Special tele-fiction Mayaboti, based on Nazrul's story and directed by Golam Habib Litu will telecast at 2:45 pm, starring Abdullah Rana, Shafiq Khan Dilu, Sheikh Sapna and more. A musical show by Ferdous Ara called Bagichay Bulbuli Tui will be aired at 7:50 pm.
ATN Bangla: ATN Bangla starts the day with a Nazrul Jayanti special children's show Bhor Holo Dor Kholo at 8.30 am. A poetry show Shonchitar Shobdaboli will be aired at 9:30 am while a dance show Bolobir will be aired at 10:30 am. A special magazine show Chaander Mukure will be shown at 8 pm. A tele-fiction Bidrohi will be aired at 9 pm, starring Raisul Islam Asad, Prosun Azad, Rownak Hasan and directed by Shourjo Dipto Surjo.
RTV: Based on Kazi Nazrul Islam's story, Boner Papia, starring Chanchal Chowdhury and Sanjida Preeti, will be aired at 8:10 pm. It is directed by Shuvro Khan and Sraboni Ferdous.
