Cameras roll on new Baishakh play
A murmur went through a crowded body surrounding Uttara's Lake Drive Road on a busy weekday noon, making it quite impossible to see what was ahead. “Look, it's Nisho!” cried out an excited voice, before being promptly silenced by a busy crew member. And indeed it was the popular actor at the centre of everyone's attention, poised in front of a rolling camera in the midst of a scene for a new play titled “Ei Baishakh-e”, written by Sarwar Reza Jimmy.
Director Tuhin Hossain, positioned in front of his monitor, wasn't too happy with the first take. A languid Afran Nisho stands using a vape machine, nonchalantly blowing out thick clouds of smoke while Tanjin Tisha watches on from a distance. The scene needed three takes before it made to the final cut. This was followed by a short break for a costume change and makeup application.
While Tisha retreated to get ready, Nisho once again found himself jostled by eager fans. The actor didn't disappoint, fulfilling everyone's wish to take a picture with him.
Tisha returned soon, dazzling and graceful in a sari, while Nisho wore a baseball hat. The on-screen couple made their way by the lake to shoot the next scene, which the director informed would be a romantic one.
As day rolled on into afternoon, the crew broke apart for their lunch break. An actress was heard calling out for paan-shupari, an odd request later explained saying that it was needed for their next scene. And thus it went on for the new play, which is slated to air on Pahela Baishakh. The stars of the play, Nisho and Tisha will portray characters named Polam and Nilima respectively.
