Theatre fest in Dinajpur
A 25-day theatre festival opened in Dinajpur on Thursday evening, marking the centenary of Dinajpur Natya Samiti, which was founded in 1913.
Eminent cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar inaugurated the festival by lighting 101candles at Dinajpur Natya Samiti Auditorium. Foreign Affairs Minister AK Mahmud Ali was present as chief guest.
Mirza Anwarul Islam Tanu, President of Dinajpur Natya Samiti, chaired the session.
Ramendu Majumdar said a 100 year journey for any institutions globally is a prestigious for the country. He urged all cultural activists to work together for nursing such an organisation. After the inauguration, "Jamineer Shesh Sanglap" was staged by Dinajpur Natya Samiti.
At the festival, 19 troupes including four from India's West Bengal will present plays, till November 22.
