‘Swapner Daak: Unite in Tune’ to kick off tomorrow
Swapner Daak: Unite in Tune, a global fundraising virtual concert arranged by Asiatic EXP and Australian non-profit organisation LISTEN FOR INC in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bangladesh, aims to help underprivileged and vulnerable populations that have been harshly affected by the pandemic. The funds raised from the event will be disbursed through UNDP's COVID-19 response activities to help people in need across Bangladesh. As of May 8, 2020, UNDP Bangladesh has provided support to approximately 6.4 million people affected by COVID-19, in rural and urban areas.
The concert is divided into four live shows with more than sixty performers joining in from four continents. It will be available in four different time zones.
Asaduzzaman Noor, Kumar Bishwajit, Sara Zaker, Samina Chowdhury, Shafin Ahmed, Srikanta Acharya, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Lopamudra, Bappa Mazumder, Partha Barua, Tahsan Khan, Jon Kabir, Shunno, Elita Karim, Hridoy Khan, Zohad Reza Chowdhury, Kona, Mila, Afsana Mimi, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Ankhi Alamgir among other noted artistes will be participating in the event.
The show will kick-off on June 20 at 8 pm in Bangladesh. The Europe show (8 pm BST) and North America show (8 pm EDT) will air on June 20. The Australia show is scheduled to air on June 21 at 7 pm AEST.
