A joyous Eid for the stars – Part ii

Everyone looks forward to spending some quality time with loved ones on Eid and the artistes of the showbiz industry are no different. Amidst their holidays, some of the brightest female stars of the industry talked to The Daily Star about how they are spending their time.

Aupee Karim, besides being one of the most revered actors of our time, is also an accomplished architect. She is a faculty member in the School of Architecture in American International University Bangladesh (AIUB). “I am currently in Japan,” she says, “so, I could not spend Eid with my family, like I do traditionally. I am excited about visiting projects by one of the most legendary architects of the world, Kengo Kuma.” However, the actor has acted in Eid projects, of which she had the opportunity to watch the Ashfaque Nipun directorial, Miss Shiuli. “It is a great telefilm, and I recommend it to everyone,” she adds. Even though television star Rafiath Rashid Mithila did not star in any television projects this time, her music video with her cousin and ace singer Arnob, Ki Hole Ki Hoto, released on the occasion of Eid, and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience. “I usually spend Eid with my cousins,” says Mithila. “I had to give away a lot of salami this time, but my daughter received a lot as well!”

Safa Kabir is one of the busiest actors during the Eid season, and one of the most prominent young stars in the industry. “Even though the rain was a bit of a let-down, it ultimately did not affect me as much because most of my immediate family live in the same building,” she says. “Even though I did not get a chance to watch any of my telefilms, I am very happy about the response I got for Generation Gap, Miss Shiuli and Kabul. I will watch them as soon as they are uploaded on YouTube.”

Rising star Naziba Basher has worked on a brand new web series this Eid, Money Honey, besides some well received television advertisements.

“I used this vacation for some much-needed rest,” says the actor.“I also spent time with my cats, Jojo and Junior. I watched Money Honey on Hoichoi, and I would recommend it to everyone! I loved playing the character of ASP Maria Gomes.”
