Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Asif Akbar’s joint musical project in the works

Eminent lyricist, film director and producer Gazi Mazharul Anwar has penned more than 20,000 songs in his illustrious career, while singer Asif Akbar has gained immense popularity all over the country with his hit songs over the years.

The two are teaming up for a musical project, where the singer will be recording several songs penned by the legendary lyricist.

"Asif is one of the most talented singers of our country and I personally like him for his transparency and strong mind," shared Gazi Mazharul Anwar.

The National Film Award-winning lyricist already penned two songs for the singer, and is working on a few more.

Singer Dithi Anwar, Gazi Mazharul Anwar's daughter, will lend her voice to one of the songs, along with Asif Akbar. Javed Ahmed Kislu is the composer and director of the project, comprised of romantic songs.

"Javed Ahmed Kislu has been working on several projects over the years and he is a talented composer," added Gazi Mazharul Anwar. "I am also happy to be working with my daughter, and I am hopeful about this joint production."

"Gazi Mazharul Anwar is a treasure for our country and I am blessed to be lending my voice to his songs," wrote Asif Akbar in a post on his verified Facebook profile. " I never had a chance to work on audio recordings with him. We are both from Cumilla and hopefully, we will continue working together in the future."

The recordings are scheduled to start soon.
