Farooque’s condition stabilises
National Award winning actor and Freedom Fighter Akbar Hossain Pathan, known by his stage name Farooque was receiving treatment at Singapore's Mount Elizabeth hospital after started losing consciousness from March 21 due to a brain haemorrhage.
The actor has now regained consciousness, according to his son, Sharot. "He has been talking to us," he says. "I thank the Almighty and everyone who extended their prayers for him."
The actor worked in more than 150 films in his career, and is considered as one of the most dominant actors of his time. Most of his works were critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
In 2016, the actor received the National Film Award's Lifetime Achievement Award.
